EPS Foam Densified Brick Maker Equipment

Turn bulky EPS foam scrap into valuable, recyclable material with JTW International’s EPS foam densified brick maker equipment. Designed for facilities handling packaging waste and production offcuts, our equipment converts loose foam into dense, stackable bricks, helping you reduce storage needs, lower handling and transportation costs, and maximize shipping loads. Instead of paying to dispose of bulky scrap, you can prepare it for resale to recyclers and potentially turn waste into revenue.

Why Make Bricks From EPS Foam?

EPS is a lightweight plastic foam typically made up of about 98% air. That structure makes it useful for cushioning products and insulation, but inefficient to store and ship once discarded. An EPS foam densifier addresses the air-filled volume rather than simply cutting foam into smaller pieces.

Suitable feedstock can include protective packaging, molded EPS components, sheet trimmings, and fabrication offcuts. Keep polystyrene separate from other foam plastics, and check adhesives, coatings, and contamination before processing.

How Loose EPS Becomes a Solid Brick

JTW's EPS foam melter equipment combines three operations:

Shredding

A dual-shaft shredder breaks bulky foam into smaller pieces for controlled feeding.

Thermal Densification

An auger moves the shredded EPS through a heated chamber. As the expanded cellular structure collapses, air is released, and the plastic consolidates into a much smaller volume.

Brick Formation

The heated material passes through a die into a mold, then cools into a rigid brick. The finished bricks stack without baling wire. Because the discharge leaves the machine hot, allow suitable cooling and handling space before the bricks are palletized.

These are recycled-polystyrene bricks, not construction bricks. A downstream recycler can grind and reprocess accepted material into new products.

Put More EPS Into Less Storage Space

Brick making changes how your facility handles EPS after production or collection:

  • Store More by Weight: Replace bulky loose foam with stackable bricks.

  • Make Handling Simpler: Collect, move, and palletize material in consistent forms.

  • Improve Shipping Efficiency: Consolidate more EPS into suitable outbound loads.

  • Explore Recycling Value: Offer segregated densified material to recyclers that accept its grade.

JTW reports densification of up to 90:1 under suitable conditions. Actual results and recycling value depend on material and operating requirements.

Choose the Right EPS Foam Brick Maker Machine

Your EPS weight per shift, scrap dimensions, and desired operating hours determine which capacity to consider. JTW offers three AD Series options:

AD-60 Base

Up to 200 lb/hr, with a 21.5 × 19.5-inch inlet and a 4 × 12 × 24-inch brick mold.

AD-60 HD

Up to 200 lb/hr, with a larger 28 × 29.5-inch inlet and the same brick mold.

AD-60 D Dual Output

Up to 400 lb/hr, with a 28 × 29.5-inch inlet and an 8 × 12 × 24-inch brick mold.

Feed rates are published maximums, not guaranteed EPS throughput.

Plan Brick Making Around Your Facility

EPS may be generated at one cutting station or collected from several areas. Depending on your setup, JTW can discuss infeed conveyors, remote shredders, air conveying, elevating stands, and exhaust options.

We review material flow, electrical supply, available space, and finished-brick handling so the equipment fits the work already happening on your floor.
